As dental teams in the UK are making preparations and re-opening practices, members should ensure they have the right protection in place before returning to work.
Staying protected
Members operating in the private sector who choose to return to work can be reassured that the indemnity provided by Dental Protection will continue to meet their regulatory and legal obligations, provided they are in active membership and paying the correct subscription for the work they will be undertaking.
Please be aware that if you had previously moved into a deferred category of membership due to your practice temporarily closing, you will need to email us and move back to an active membership before you commence any treatment of patients. Please include your membership number, the exact date of return and details of your projected scope of practice (number of sessions, hours per week, private income and procedures worked).
Similarly, if you had previously notified us of a reduction to your hours or scope of practice during the COVID-19 crisis, then you will need to update your details to reflect any changes to your circumstance as a result of returning to practice. You can do this by logging on to MyMPS or you can email us.
