The Executive Committee is tasked with assisting and advising the Chief Executive in the day-to-day running of the organisation. The Committee is made up of senior MPS employees who have extensive experience and specialised knowledge. They are committed to delivering the best possible service to members.

Simon Kayll

BA(Hons) FCA MBA

Simon Kayll was elected to the Council as an executive director in June 2003.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He joined MPS in February 1994 as Chief Accountant and was successively appointed as Financial Controller and then Finance Director in January 1999, also serving as Company Secretary for MPS and most of its subsidiary companies from March 2000 until December 2011. he was appointed Chief Executive of MPS on 1 January 2012, at which time his position on the Council became ex officio and thus he is not elected by the membership.

Lisa Davis

Executive Director of People and Culture

Lisa Davis joined MPS in March 2023 and has responsibility for our People and Culture strategy across our global business. These aim to develop highly engaged and technically excellent people, working in a positive, diverse and inclusive workplace. She has a strong track record of delivering exceptional workplace culture and business transformation, complemented by financial analytical capability.

Lisa has over 20 years’ expertise in the Financial Services sector and joins us from Just Group PLC, where she was Group Chief People Officer. Prior to this, Lisa worked at Skipton Building Society as their Group Chief People Officer, leading their business to achieving Investors in People Platinum status (awarded to only 0.5% of UK organisation), 3-Star rating as UK’s 25 Best Big Companies and one the 30 Best Companies to work for in Financial Services. She originally worked for EY and PA Consulting before moving into internal HR roles at Santander, Aviva and npower.

Lisa is also Vice Chair of the Board of the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter.

Geoff Jones

Executive Director for Member Protection and Support
Geoff Jones joined MPS in 2020 and has responsibility for the Member Protection and Support Division, which is at the forefront of protecting the careers, reputation and financial risk of our members worldwide. 

He is accountable for ensuring the provision of excellent service delivery, which is trusted and valued by members and provides fair treatment and outcomes.

Prior to joining MPS, he worked for RSA Insurance, where he has held many senior positions including Chief Claims Officer Ireland, Commercial Claims Director UK & Europe, and Director Specialty and Wholesale.
 
Geoff is also a qualified lawyer, having started his career as a defendant PI lawyer acting for a range of insurers and public organisations. He also has extensive experience of working in a regulatory environment leading large claims operations, multi-disciplinary teams, and more recently, running RSA’s London Market Specialty and Wholesale business.

Tim Jordan

Executive Director – Commercial Services

Tim is responsible for product and proposition, member experience, pricing, actuarial, underwriting and investment strategy on MPS’s asset portfolio.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (2008) and also a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary (2013). Before joining MPS in June 2014 he had a varied actuarial career with RSA, KPMG and the MDU. Before becoming an actuary, Tim was also a qualified stockbroker and independent financial advisor.

Richard Pile

Executive Director of Finance

Richard Pile joined MPS in May 2021.

As Finance Director, he is responsible for the leadership of the Finance Division, providing strategic guidance and oversight on MPS’s finance, investments, business information, procurement and facilities. He also brings a wealth of experience to support and challenge the Executive Committee and Council to drive the performance of the business.

Richard has over 17 years of financial services experience in a variety of leadership roles including strategic portfolio planning, financial and management reporting, and operational.

Prior to joining MPS, Richard was Chief Financial Officer at Royal Sun Alliance (RSA) Luxembourg – the European arm of RSA Group. He spent 7 years at RSA in various senior finance roles, and prior to this, worked at Hyperion Insurance Group supporting its global expansion as Head of Group Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and Reporting. Richard started his career at Grant Thornton, where he qualified as an accountant, working within its financial services practice.

Mark Randerson

Executive Director of Business Development and Engagement

Mark Randerson is responsible for leading business development, marketing, communications, direct sales and operations, and risk prevention services teams internationally.

Mark studied at Newcastle, Surrey, Humberside and Hull Universities gaining a BSc (Hons), MSc in Management, an MBA and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing. 

Having initially trained in general management, Mark further developed his corporate experience through senior commercial roles in strategy, sales, marketing and customer service for BUPA, RAC Group, HBOS and GE.

Mark then moved into senior leadership roles in fast-paced, private equity backed companies specialising in financial services, insurance and healthcare sectors with an appetite for growth or strategic transformation.

Mark joined MPS in 2014 as Commercial Director and was promoted to Executive Director in May 2016.

Paul Read

Chief Risk Officer (Interim)

Paul Read provides risk management and compliance direction to the executive and senior leaders of MPS. He is responsible for fostering a strong, member-focused risk culture across the business which supports the financial security of our membership fund.

Prior to taking up this role at MPS, Paul spent over 30 years defining, delivering and embedding risk management, governance and regulatory compliance across complex and multi-location organisations within the insurance and financial services sectors.

He has extensive experience in determining appropriate risk management strategy, including the design and implementation of appropriate frameworks to deliver effective assurance and a source of competitive advantage. 

He joins MPS in 2023 as the Chief Risk Officer on an interim basis.

David Wheeler

General Counsel

As General Counsel, David is responsible for providing and obtaining legal advice on a wide range of corporate legal issues affecting the MPS group. He is a director of the MPS Periodical Payments Trust and the company secretary for MPS, MPI and MPSrs. He is also secretary to the Ethics Committee of Council.

David obtained a law degree at Leeds University in the UK before completing his Law Society finals at the College of Law at Lancaster Gate London.

He qualified as a solicitor in 1990 in private practice and then moved in-house. Before joining MPS in June 2011, he spent over 20 years as in-house counsel in the IT, finance, banking and not for profit sectors including roles at international organisations and UK and US listed companies.

Jon Wood

Executive Director for Digital and Change

Jon joined MPS in 2021 and is responsible for the Digital and Change division, ensuring we maintain, evolve and innovate across our technology and digital capabilities, and successfully deliver our ambitious change portfolio. 

Prior to joining MPS, Jon worked for Disneyland Paris, where he was the VP & Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Digital and Technology. 

With over 20 years’ experience in International C-suite Digital and Technology roles; he has also worked for FTSE 100 organisations including Carnival UK Plc and Merlin Entertainments Plc. Jon also has experience working in the not-for-profit healthcare sector with Nuffield Health.

Jon started his career in Technology Engineering and Development, before progressing to Senior Leadership roles.

He has extensive experience in defining and delivering Technology and Digital Strategies as well as delivering large scale change programmes and transformations.
